Do Better Promotion By Not Being So Promotional

You can do much better "promotion" by not being so blatantly "promotional" in your blog posts and social media posts.

These days, it is all about social networking.

KEY here is the word "SOCIAL"!

Those who make literally thousands of dollars a month using online methodologies give and give and give some more first.

Like I've found in all things, there are nuances to it....

Give a lot but not the whole thing.

Be worthwhile and charge a decent fee for your services but at the same time, give enough to begin with so that people really want more.

I've recently helped some totally novice friends of mine who know almost nothing about social media, blogging or the internet from zero to making over $2000 in just a few days.  (BTW, it is recurring sign ups and not just a one time thing.)

So I know this works.

It is one thing to do something yourself.

It is totally different to be able to help someone else do it.

One of these days I might write this all out in a course or something.

But for now, here are the basics: just communicate, post a whole lot of helpful stuff, have a way to build a list and have a product to sell that is something your audience actually needs and wants at a price they are willing to pay.

BTW, none of this has to be fancy.

My friends started with free blogs and paypal buttons and free autoreponders.

P.S.  I retired from all of my successful businesses and real estate ten years ago and evolved into Business and Life Coaching at the fervent and continued request of my friends and associates.

Every so often I feel like helping people out in a business sense especially when I see people struggling with it.

And being part of the Ultra Blog Challenge is part of it, too.

Ask any questions you have below, like:

How do I made over $5000 a month with a free blog?

What is CEO Space, anyway?

How did you retire at such a young age?

What is the most complicated thing you find in blogging?

  1. I know it is a small thing, but actually I've just got a glimpse of this yesterday with the social media sites for book lovers post that I wrote. It was not promotional at all, had not even one self-serving link. And it was immediately tweeted further by one genuine book author with at least 2000 followers and a book bloggers - all because the article was genuine and not promotional - and offered real good and helpful content. I'll have to do more of these in the future, I see its power now.

    1. Marika,

There you go! That is exactly what I'm talking about. People LOVE to share good information but don't really like to feel like they are marketing to their social networks.

To me, it is the same when asking for comments or likes or followers...instead, just offer really good content and let those who are naturally interested come to you.

You get a much more aligned group of followers anyway!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

      I appreciate it.

      :-)

  2. You are absolutely right. I manage our social media accounts for our market. I've learned that asking for followers does not get you anywhere. A better way to get followers is through individual interaction or by joining a twitter chat.
